Around the turn of the 20th century, Pasadena's Arroyo Seco was a hotbed of creative activity, attracting artists and craftsmen to its winding streets, including architect brothers Henry and Charles Greene. Thanks to their talents, Pasadena became one of the centers of the American Arts & Crafts movement (one of only three in the country!)
On this tour, we'll explore the Arroyo Terrace neighborhood and its many Greene & Greene designed houses, including the Gamble House. We'll meander around two of the earliest housing developments in Pasadena, and talk about some of the other architects, designers, and creative people who made their mark in this neighborhood. Come walk in their footsteps and learn more about their lives and art, all while enjoying some of Pasadena's most stunning scenery!
